Tis the season to swap ice skates for roller skates or blades! With seasonal rink reopenings and the availability of skate rentals as little as kids' size 6/7/8, it's easier than ever for families to head out for a skate session together! Check out one of these rinks around NYC:
🛼 Pier 2 Roller Skating Rink (Brooklyn Bridge Park)
- Open through October
- Hours: Times vary, see the schedule (NOTE: not open when raining)
- Cost: $0-11 admission depending on the day/hour, $7 roller skate or blade rentals, lockers available for a quarter
- Skate lessons presented by Skaterobics starting May 2nd: Thursdays 6-7pm lesson for kids AND adults, $20 per person including skate rental and wrist guards
🛼 LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park (Prospect Heights)
- Open through October
- Typical hours:
- Weekdays 10:30am-6pm
- Weekends 12-6pm
- Occasional special events
- Cost: $9.80-14.50 admission, $9.25 skate rental (skate aids, helmets, elbow/knee pads, lockers also available for rental)
- Lessons available through the Skate School
🛼 Brooklyn Skates **Adults only** (Bed-Stuy)
- Open year-round
- Hours: Wednesdays 8pm-12am, Fridays 8pm-1am
- Cost: $10 admission, $5 skate rental
