Join us for an exciting earth-friendly celebration at Albee Square Plaza and Albee Square West – which will be closed to traffic all day. Bring your bikes, scooters, and roller skates and enjoy a car-free street!
Here’s what’s happening:
On Albee Square West:
- 11am-12pm | Join Wukkout! for a high-energy, Soca-based dance class designed to get your heart pumping and make you sweat! Experience the vibrant party vibes of a Caribbean carnival while enjoying an exhilarating aerobic workout
- 11am-2pm | In partnership with 3×3 and DSNY, we invite you to dispose of your e-waste in a free, convenient, and ethical way. For more information on what you can bring, visit.
- 12pm-3:30pm | Learn all about composting with BK ROT and also take home some of Brooklyn’s finest compost for growing vegetables, herbs and also for jump-starting soil remediation
- 1pm-3pm | Learn to ride a bike with Bike New York! Bike New York teaches kids 5 – 14 how to ride safely along Albee Square West (which is closed to traffic for the day), while parents and guardians cheer them on! (more info to come)
On Albee Square:
12pm-3:30pm
- DJ Boogie will spin throughout the event with sets inspired by nature’s elements
- Make art from reused materials with Materials for the Arts (MFTA), NYC’s premier creative reuse facility. Build mosaics and other art projects with old CDs and vinyl!
- Brooklyn Book Bodega will offer free, environmentally themed books as part of their mission to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids 0-18 in NYC
- Learn to hand sew and knit plastic fashionable items, repurpose your t-shirt with Black Girls Sew
- Rejin Leys invites you to make recycled paper while creating awareness about our environment
- Write poetry with Poets in the Park
- Dave & Buster’s will be on had with their “Prize Drop” Plinko Game. Play to win fun prizes.

- Trashaganza! by Bash the Trash weaves together fun interactive songs, cool science, and timely environmental messaging about plastic pollution and climate change
