Join us to ignite some holiday cheer with Carols, Calypso, & Cocoa!
On the First Thursday of December, we gather to ignite some holiday cheer. The Dumbo Improvement District is thrilled to sponsor our 18th Tree Lighting. Calypso carols, Christmas covers, performances by Dumbo’s middle and elementary school students, sweet treats from neighborhood restaurants – and of course – Santa in a photo booth!
- TREE LIGHTING. With a countdown led by our very own Alexandria Sica!
- MENORAH LIGHTING. With a countdown led by our very own Alexandria Sica!
- SANTA CLAUS. All the way from the North Pole, in a fabulous setting generously created by West Elm. Photobooth from our friends at Self Portrait Project.
- CHRISTMAS COVERS. By Curtis J. Social and the Dumbo house band!
- CHEERS. Performances by our PS307 and Dock Street Middle School students.
- HOT COCOA & SWEET TREATS. Generously donated by Celestine, Dawn’s ‘Til Dusk, Jacques Torres and Starbucks Dumbo.
- HOLIDAY PROJECTIONS. Animated videos celebrate the spirit of gifting, created specially for us by the DUMBO-based animation company Augenblick Studios.
- TOY DRIVE. Bring an unwrapped toy for a child ages 0 to 14, and we’ll add the to the 84th Precinct’s Operation Sleigh Ride.
- COAT DRIVE. Bring an old coat in good condition–all sizes are welcome! – and we’ll add it to the 84th Precinct x New York Cares Coat Drive this season.
- FOOD DRIVE. Bring packaged non-perishables for the Vinegar Hill Pantry Food Drive.
