Description
Come celebrate with us! Honor Shirley Chisholm's legacy, and learn about her and the park's history while commemorating the 100th anniversary of New York State Parks!
Kayaking on the Bay| 10 am-12 pm. No registration is required, but participants must wear secure shoes that they do not mind getting wet/muddy.
Guided Hikes:
- Guided Bird Walk | 10 am - 12 pm This will take place on the Fountain Avenue side of the park, along both paved and gravel trails with moderate elevation. We will have binoculars and bird guides
- Wellness Walk with Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute featured guest Miko Branch | 2 pm-3 pm This will be a 45-minute hike along paved and gravel trails featuring Miko Branch, Co-Founder and CEO of Ms. Jessie's and SCCI Board Member discussing her business, challenges with mental health, and what she has learned about self-care.

Slow Bicycle Race | 2 pm
Kid's Bike Raffle | Winners will be drawn at 3:30 pm and notified by phone.
Stop by the Bike Library to enter to win a refurbished kid's Bicycle, 1 raffle ticket per attendee, the child must be present to enter.
Environmental Learning Centers | open all day. Drop by to learn about Shirley Chisholm's life and legacy and the history of NY State Parks.
Festivities at Penn Pier | 1-4 pm
- Live performances by Science of Music Steelpan Orchestra and United Steppers!
- Tablers with fun activities, giveaways, and crafts including Brooklyn Book Bodega, Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy and so many more!
- Meet and Greet local wildlife ambassadors with Volunteers for Wildlife!
- Drop-in fishing lessons!
- Food Trucks!
- Crafts and Games!
