651 ARTS and The Soapbox Presents are back again, bringing you our Fourth Annual Juneteenth Celebration! We’re taking to The Plaza at 300 Ashland on Saturday, June 15 for We Outside! A Brooklyn Juneteenth, Vol II.
Vibe to live music, dance, spoken word, and so much more as we celebrate freedom through individual expression. The Plaza will be brought to life to life in full force with our jam-packed event! Join us for a day of culture and community!
This event is FREE, and all ages are welcome.
- Stoop Sessions, Freedom Songs explores our journey through protest music to a party of radical joy.
- Made Black features a market filled with Brooklyn’s finest Black artisans and entrepreneurs. Find contemporary fashion, accessories, home goods, handmade jewelry, and more - all Made Black.
- The Cypher: Rep Your City invites participants to share stories of their cities, countries, and cultures through dance. From New York’s litefeet to Chicago's footwork, we’ll explore liberation through movement, traveling around the country, using dance as our vehicle and freedom as our fuel.
- Young, Gifted and Black celebrate HBCU culture with marching bands, majorette squads, and a step show!
- Melanated Notes pairs poet with amusician for an aural exploration of freedom.
