It’s the Book of Esther as you’ve never seen it before, bringing to life the Bible’s greatest Hebrew heroine with a dose of humor and heart.
The ancient Persian city of Shushan from the Purim story comes alive in this new musical in development, with fifteen original songs, complete with its evergreen message of courage and unity. Inspired by the Broadway musicals of Stephen Schwartz, Andrew Lloyd Weber, and Menken & Ashman. So, hop off your Persian rug and welcome yourselves to SHUSHAN! the musical, a staged reading starring professional NYC actors and musicians.
Our play was first workshopped in 2018 and 2019 at Romemu, New York's spiritual center of the Jewish Renewal movement. This week marks the first time that SHUSHAN! the Musical is making it to the stage.
