Description
Since 1988, the Annual Chinese New Year Celebration Parade has been bringing the richness of Chinese culture to Brooklyn as well as promoting unity among neighborhoods. To honor the tradition, firecrackers and lion dances are used for the traditional ritual cleansing of homes and businesses to usher in a year of good luck. There are also live performances from the local schools and senior centers to show their holiday spirits. The parade draws more than thousands of spectators and distinguished guests who share this unique experience with us every year.
Opening Ceremony 11:00 A.M. with a speaking program, firecrackers, and performances. The parade will begin at 1:00 P.M. and conclude at 2:30 P.M. The parade will be led by the Head Lion and their VIP guests, starting at 8th Avenue and 50th Street until its finale on 61st Street.
