Description
In this moving dance performance from acclaimed choreographer Hope Boykin, a young girl named Clover is told by her mom that it isn’t safe to cross the fence that segregates their African-American side of town from the white side where her neighbor Anna lives. But when the two girls become friends, they find a clever way to get around the grown-up rules together.
Twenty years after its first publication, Jacqueline Woodson’s powerful picture book The Other Side comes to life on stage in an enthralling program of dance about overcoming the barriers that keep us apart.
Join us for Q&As with Boykin, Woodson, and the company following the performances on Saturday, March 2 at 3 pm and Sunday, March 3 at 11 am.
Please note: There will be a sensory-friendly performance on March 3 at 3 pm.
