The Metropolitan Opera's popular concert series in New York City parks kicks off the New York summer season with six free outdoor recitals in all five boroughs. Presented in collaboration with Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage, the series will start at Central Park SummerStage on Tuesday, June 20, and Brooklyn Bridge Park on Friday, June 23, featuring soprano Gabriella Reyes, tenor René Barbera, and baritone Will Liverman, joined by Met assistant conductor Dimitri Dover at the piano.
The Metropolitan Opera looks to inspire new generations of opera lovers with this free concert series that has become one of the city’s most beloved summer traditions. This year’s concert features Gabriella Reyes, Lincoln Center’s 2019 Emerging Artist whose voice The New York Times described as “radiant and rich in vibrato”; René Barbera, the Mexican-American tenor who was the first-ever sole recipient of all three top awards at the Operalia Competition; Juilliard alumnus Will Liverman, an operatic baritone and one of the opera world’s most exciting new voices; and MET music staffer Dimitri Dover, an experienced soloist and collaborator who has performed in some of the country’s most prestigious venues.
