The Montague Street BID and the Brooklyn Heights Association are piloting car-free Open Streets on Montague Street on Saturdays.
Stroll, socialize, pull up a seat. Bring your friends, family, toys, bikes, scooters, and pets on leashes. Meet your neighbors. Make new friends. Listen to music. Do Art. Dance. Explore. Eat. Drink. Shop local.

The Big Reuse, in collaboration with the Department of Sanitation and Council Member Restler’s office will be on Montague Street to help sign you up for curbside composting.
Get up to three (3) 40-lb bags of compost made from NYC food scraps and yard waste. To reserve compost, visit https://bit.ly/MBIDcompost
Note: Montague Street will be closed to car traffic, so be prepared to transport your compost home without any assistance.

Help us enliven our public space by creating a chalk mural inspired by the fight for climate justice at Montague Open Streets. Are you or your kids artistic, creative, and/or do you have a passion for fighting climate change and activating our public spaces?
