It's finally Spring!! Take a look ahead at these iconic Spring events in Brooklyn, and check back. There are many more to be announced! 

Women’s History Month Celebration at Atlantic Terminal

Saturday, March 29 |

This family-friendly event will feature a free Brooklyn Book Bodega book giveaway and an engaging live reading experience. Step into a world where magic meets science and discover the incredible stories of women who changed history! Join Eileen the Explorer as she brings to life the journeys of brilliant women in science and magic—sharing their greatest discoveries, awe-inspiring tricks, and the moments that sparked their passion. Be amazed by live magic tricks, learn a few to impress your friends, and shout the magic words as we celebrate the power of knowledge and imagination!




Celebrate Eid Around the World at Brooklyn Children's Museum

Saturday, April 5 | 11am-4pm | $15 admission | Crown Heights

Experience how cultures around the world mark the end of Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr! Enjoy a day of music, dance, food, and art that honors cultural traditions from across the Muslim world, presented in partnership with Council Member Shahana Hanif. Enjoy vibrant Bangladeshi dance performances by the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts, interactive drumming inspired by Sufi traditions, and engaging storytelling that tells the story of Eid presented by The Culture Tree. Plus Turkish, Kurdish, and Islamic classical music, delicious food provided by local vendors through the Turkish Cultural Center of Brooklyn, and more!




Smargasburg Season Opening

Saturday, April 5 in Williamsburg | Sunday, April 6 in Prospect Park | FREE entry

Smorgasburg, presented in partnership with Marsha P Johnson State Park and Prospect Park Alliance, is considered the “Woodstock of Eating.” This beloved food festival offers a range of cuisines from local food purveyors. Visit Smorgasburg Prospect Park every Saturday beginning April 5 in Marsha P Johson State Park and  every Sunday beginning April 6 on Prospect Park’s Breeze Hill, near the Lincoln Road entrance, through October.



BKCM Celebrates Holi in Prospect Park

Sunday, April 6 (new date) | 1-2:30pm | FREE entry, $6 for each colored powder packet | Prospect Park Long Meadow

Join Mixed Masala and BKCM in celebrating Holi! The celebration begins at 3pm with picnicking and live music at Long Meadow (near Grand Army Plaza). Bring a blanket and snacks and enjoy the free concert. At 4pm, attendees will be invited to join in the traditional celebration of throwing colored powder. Wear white clothing and expect to get messy! 




BKLYN Easter Fest at CityPoint

Saturday, April 19 | 11am-1pm | FREE | Downtown Brooklyn

City Point and Brooklyn Bridge Parents will bring Easter Fest to Downtown BKLYN with kids DIY spring crafts, Easter Bunny #selfies, cookie decorating and games for ages 1 to 10. 




Brooklyn Botanic Garden Hanami Nights

Tuesday, April 22–Friday, April 25, 2025 | 5–8:30 p.m. | $35 adults, $17 kids | Prospect Heights

Enjoy magical access to the Garden’s famous Kanzan trees! Find a spot on Cherry Esplanade to enjoy the cherry blossoms, lit up for maximum effect, and savor the spring vibe with family and friends. Stroll in the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden and along Cherry Walk, try your hand at origami, and view a curated display of bonsai in the Lillian and Amy Goldman Atrium.




Downtown Brooklyn Car-Free Earth Day in Albee Square

Saturday, April 26 | 11am-3:30pm | FREE | Downtown Brooklyn

Enjoy Earth-friendly and car-free activities including music, fashion, cycling lessons, and more. Albee Square West will be closed to traffic all day, so bring your bike or roller skates, and enjoy activities and music at Albee Square Plaza. Stop by CityPoint 12-2pm for for a Wind Energy Party for Families presented by Community Offshore Wind. Build wind turbines from recycled materials, wind energy crafts, and wind turbine cookie decorating. 




Earth Day Festival at Fort Greene Park

Celebrate Earth Day at Fort Greene Park! There will be various free, family-friendly activities and sustainable swaps for all ages.




Invent & Imagine: An Earth Day Celebration at Atlantic Terminal

Sunday, April 27 | 12-3pm | FREE | Downtown Brooklyn

Come together to celebrate our planet and spark creativity in the name of sustainability! Explore the magic of simple machines and build new inventions using recycled and found materials with KoKo NYC. Plus, Brooklyn Book Bodega will be on-site with a free and sustainable book giveaway—because books are meant to be shared, read, and loved by many! Discover the wonders of mechanics and how everyday materials can be transformed into something extraordinary. From bottle caps to cardboard boxes, every item has the potential for new life! Celebrate Holi at Brooklyn Children's Museum

Celebrate springtime’s most vibrant celebration at Brooklyn Children’s Museum! Together with Ajna Dance Company and The Culture Tree, get ready for our annual celebration of springtime, renewal, color, and play.




Show Brooklyn Some Love Fest at CityPoint

Saturday, May 10 | 11am-2pm | FREE | Downtown Brooklyn

Brooklyn Org, Brooklyn Bridge Parents, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and City Point will unite the community, leading cultural organizations, and nonprofits with the second free “Show Brooklyn Some Love Fest” at City Point in and Albee Square. Best for families with kids ages 1 to 10. The event will also include hip hop workshops, music making, face painting, live music and more.




Willowtown Annual Spring Fair 

Saturday, May 17 | 12-5PM | FREE | Brooklyn Heights

The Willowtown Association hosts its annual spring fair with plant sale, baked goods, live music, face painters, bounce house, games, raffle, and more. 




Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair

Sunday, May 18 | 10am-6pm | Park Slope

Come to one of the best street fairs in the city with lots of local food, shopping, art, music and fun on 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, between Sterling and 12th Street. 




Spring Fling in Brooklyn Heights

Sunday, May 18 | 12-4pm | FREE | Brooklyn Heights

Come out for the first ever Spring Fling during Open Streets on Montague with 25 free kids activities and puppet show (1pm). There will be games, arts and crafts, soccer, face painting, building activities and obstacle course, and much more. The PuppetMobile will feature Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking at 1pm, presented in tandem with the 80th anniversary of the beloved book and in association with the Astrid Lindgren Foundation. 




BAM DanceAfrica Festival

May 23-May 26 (Memorial Day Weekend) | FREE | Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn Heights

This Memorial Day weekend, DanceAfrica, the nation’s largest festival dedicated to African diasporic dance and music, opens up Brooklyn’s stages and streets to the rich culture and artistry of Mozambique. Now in its 48th year, this beloved celebration lifts up history and arts from Southern Africa for the unofficial start of summer. Enjoy traditional dance and music from Mozambique, view exhilarating visual art, sample FilmAfrica’s illuminating cinematic offerings, participate in classes, workshops, and late-night dance parties, and mingle with neighbors from around the block and around the globe in the iconic outdoor bazaar. It’s all waiting for you at Brooklyn’s most unmissable summer celebration! Check out a free, all-ages BAM DanceAfrica Community Class in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday, May 24 11am-12:15pm (rain date May 25).




Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 26 | 11am | FREE | Bay Ridge

A Brooklyn tradition since 1867, the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade is considered to be the oldest continuously run Memorial Day parade in a large city in the nation. Veterans, civic groups, schools, and marching bands parade along 3rd Avenue toward the Verrazzano Bridge ending with a service honoring Veterans.




DUMBO Drop

Friday, May 30 | 4-7pm | FREE block party, ticketed elephant drops | DUMBO

DUMBO DROP is an Annual Tradition where thousands of toy elephants parachute down from the skies of Dumbo onto cobblestoned Washington Street – Brooklyn’s most iconic block. Plus, there's an epic block party with kids activities, restaurant row and more! All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to Dumbo’s Title 1 public schools, PS307 Elementary + The Dock Street Middle School. Tickets go on sale April 1!




Photoville Opening Weekend Celebration at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Celebrate the opening of the annual Photoville Festival with a community celebration! There will be two full days of family-friendly activities, photography workshops, engaging tours, and a captivating mix of visual storytelling.




Brooklyn Pride Multicultural Festival and Parade
