    Wake Up & Dance with Suzi Shelton What: Wake Up and Dance is a joyful concert series for the littlest dancers and their grown-ups by award-winning children’s musician and kindie rocker Suzi Shelton & Friends. Geared for families with children ages 0-8 years old, this early morning concert series features story time, music and dancing that is sure to engage, inspire and uplift!
  • Rock and Roll Playhouse Concerts at Brooklyn Bowl
    Sundays, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 | 11am doors, 12pm show | $23, free for children under 1 | For ages 0-10 | Williamsburg
    The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon.” Coming up, they'll play the music of Zach Bryan (3/2), Phish (3/9), Tom Petty (3/16), Billy Joel (3/23), and Chappell Roan (3/30)!
  • FREE kids concert with Suzi Shelton and Hopalong Andrew at Time Out Market New York

    Macaroni KID Brooklyn NW has teamed up with Time Out Market New York to schedule more free concerts for toddlers and babies!
  • Timbalooloo Jazz For Kids featuring Zafer Tawil at National Sawdust
    Saturday, March 15 | 10:30am doors, 11am show | $20 kids, free for adults | Williamsburg
    In Timbalooloo, instruments come to life and speak through their music, so that children learn to conceive of music as a dialogue amongst instruments and feel empowered to express themselves in the language of music. For this concert Etkin invites accomplished Palestinian musician Zafer Tawil, on Oud and Arabic percussion. Clara Net will meet the Oud and Arabic percussion instruments as they take the children on a journey full of song and dance.

    Introducing THREE new stories on stage for the first time. Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, this all-new, innovative stage production presents some of your favorite Eric Carle stories, brought to life in an intimate storytelling setting by world-class puppeteers and 45 handcrafted, magical puppets.
  • Events for Youth & Family: Finest Ballet Compositions by Brighton Ballet Theater at Central Library
    Saturday, March 22 | 1-2pm | FREE | Prospect Heights
    Brighton Ballet Theater (BBT) will showcase excerpts from original ballets created especially for a young audience, including the Soldiers' Dance, Snow Fairies' Dance, Doll Dance, French Variation, Chinese, Slavic, Spanish, and Arabian dances from The Nutcracker, and Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf dance, German Dance, Tarantella from the original ballet Nanny's Story, set to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky from his Children's Album, as well as the Dying Swan from The Ugly Duckling and the Waltz from Cinderella.
  • Jack and Friends Presents: Princess Backpack and Benjamin at Park Slope Library

    Princess Backpack is a magical talking backpack from the kingdom of Backpackia. She loves to sing, rap, dance, and take frequent long naps throughout the day. She has performed for children of all ages, at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, Blue School in Manhattan, and of course throughout Backpackia and FannyPacksylvania. This program will have registration that will open 24 hours before the program begins. 
  • Gimme Please! at BAM
    Friday, March 28-Sunday, March 30 | 10:30am and 1:30pm | $18 adults, $12 kids | For ages 0-5 | Fort Greene
    A 35-minute play about the evolving nature of friendship, Gimme Please! follows the journey of two friends from initial meeting to lasting connection. Audiences are invited to watch and explore as the two friends pretend, provoke, and persist in getting what they want and need from the world and each other. Come 30 minutes before showtime to interact with stimulating props and learn to master the show’s interactive moments to come.



2. Women's History Month: Historic Female Monuments in Parks in Prospect Park

Celebrate Women's History Month with the Urban Park Rangers. Join the Rangers as we highlight generations of female influence in parks. Design your own empowering monument.




3. National Girls & Women in Sports Day at Red Hook Rec Center

Sunday, March 2 | 12-3pm | FREE | Red Hook
National Girls and Women in Sports Day is an annual celebration of Title IX. Join them for a fun afternoon of sports and group activities. Learn new skills with NYC Parks' sports clinics in soccer, basketball, football, and more.




4. Family Day at Barcade in Williamsburg

Sunday, March 2 | 12-5pm | FREE admission | Williamsburg
Bring the family out for some classic arcade games and pinball! As this location doesn't have a kitchen, feel free to bring a lunch! Barcade is donating 5% of 2025 Family Day token sales to Gamers Outreach, a charity organization that provides recreation to children in hospitals through the power of video games and the gaming community.

  • Stargazing at Marsha P Johnson State Park

    Did you know you can see stars in Brooklyn? Learn about the winter constellations and gaze at the night sky!
  • Stargazing at Brooklyn Public Library's Night in the Library
    Saturday, March 8 | 7-10pm | FREE | Prospect Heights
    Join Amateur Astronomers Association for stargazing will be in front of the main entrance from 7-10 PM. The Sky Above Brooklyn –The Philosophy of the Sublime presentations and programs will introduce fresh ways of thinking about how to navigate the world around us with renewed attention, sensitivity, and curiosity. All programs are free, with books, food and refreshments available for purchase.
  • Stargazing at Fort Greene Park
    Tuesday, March 11 | 5-7pm | FREE | Fort Greene
    Join the Amateur Astronomers Association in Fort Greene, Brooklyn for free observing sessions, open to the public! They will meet near the corner of South Elliot Pl. and Lafayette Ave.



6. Walk Like A Wizard at Prospect Park

7. Making Brooklyn Bloom at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

This year’s conference theme, Many Hands, Light Work, celebrates both the invaluable role light plays in the greening of our city and the beacon that is community. Participate in workshops, explore BBG’s grounds, and network with NYC greening organizations at a conference that has had Brooklyn lit up with excitement for over 40 years. Walk-up tickets for workshops, talks, and tours will be available on the day of the event.




8. Purim Celebrations

  • Purim Palooza at Kane Street Synagogue

    At 10:30am, they'll have stories, simple crafts, singing and dancing with Landon Braverman, and more! At 11:30am, families with older kids can join a giant costume parade, make art, play active Purim games, bake hamantashen, plus sing and dance with Landon!
  • Cirque du Purim at Hana House

    Step into an enchanting world of whimsy as the Purim story unfolds through dazzling acrobatics, awe-inspiring acts, and live storytelling, perfect for audiences familiar with or new to the story of Purim. The celebration begins with a dance party—bring your best moves! Enjoy an unforgettable circus performance that will have you grinning from ear to ear, followed by post-show Try-It Stations to practice your circus skills with our amazing performers and snap some magical photos to remember the day.   • Megillah & Masquerade: A Community Purim Celebration at The Brooklyn Mill

9. Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Performances

  • Bindlestiff Open Stage Variety Show at Voorhees Theatre in Downtown Brooklyn

    The Bindlestiff Open Stage Variety Show is a celebration of the vibrant and diverse world of variety entertainment, featuring a dynamic lineup of talented artists. A monthly open mic for variety artists hosted by Bindlestiff Family Cirkus co-founder Keith Nelson, this crowd-favorite features emerging performers and seasoned pros alike honing new acts in front of a live audience.

    Bindlestiff Family Cirkus and Playful Productions present a special showcase for young variety performers, ranging from absolute amateurs to world-class professionals. Juvenile jugglers, diminutive dancers, adolescent acrobats, and a host of other majorly talented minors present a full show of vernal vaudeville. All the performers are under 21, but audiences of all ages will love this show!

11. Estuary Collage Workshop at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy for an upcycled art workshop! Educators will guide you through collaging techniques that involve using upcycled materials and 3-dimensional layering. With the inspiration of the East River’s unique estuary habitat, you will create a beautiful fish and estuary collage. As you craft, learn a little bit about the health of our local waterways and the types of marine species that call the East River their home.




12. Junior Keepers at the New York Aquarium

Superheroes Assemble! Explore the variety of adaptations found in the ocean- teeth for shredding, spines for protection, fins for speed and more! We’ll go behind the scene and meet an ocean animal up close.




13. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

    The Annual Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade in Park Slope is the oldest St. Patrick's Parade in Brooklyn. The event features bag pipers, marching bands, Irish dancers, antique cars, and much more.

    Time Out Market New York is bringing the luck of the Irish to DUMBO this March with live entertainment from the amazing Brooklyn Irish Dance Co.
  • 30th Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade
    Sunday, March 23 | 1pm  | FREE
    The Bay Ridge Saint Patrick’s Day Parade was the brain child of the late Gene Reilly in 1994, owner of the former Lief Erickson Pub on 5th Avenue. He wanted to share the Celtic culture and love of Irish Heritage. He believed there was a need and desire for this, and always room for one more parade in New York City.




14. BKCM Celebrates Holi at Prospect Park

Sunday, March 16 | 3-5pm | FREE entry, $6 for each colored powder packet | Prospect Park Long Meadow
Join Mixed Masala and BKCM in celebrating Holi! The celebration begins at 3pm with picnicking and live music at Long Meadow (near Grand Army Plaza). Bring a blanket and snacks and enjoy the free concert. At 4pm, attendees will be invited to join in the traditional celebration of throwing colored powder. Wear white clothing and expect to get messy! 




15. Classical Kids Fair at Brooklyn Children's Museum

WQXR is heading to Brooklyn for the Classical Kids Fair at Brooklyn Children’s Museum! Families can experience live performances, an instrument petting zoo, arts and crafts, radio and dance workshops, and more! Listen, look, and play alongside WQXR and our friends from the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and the New York Philharmonic, and more!




16. Marvel Madness Family Dance Off at Friends of Firefighters

Bring your family and friends to the Marvel Madness Family Dance Off Kiddie Disco for an afternoon full of joy and entertainment. Behold the majesty of gold at 2025’s second Teen Night, a teen-led program centered on art and activism! 19. Events for Youth & Family: African Storytelling Reimagined at Central Library

Saturday, March 29 | 1-2pm | FREE | For ages 4-10 | Prospect Heights
Have you ever wondered why spiders have such thin legs? Join us for an interactive storytime with Ada Ari, author of The Spider's Thin Legs. In this program, we will learn about a time-honored folktale from Ghana. Participants will also learn a famous Ghanaian dance move, learn fun cultural facts about the Ashanti kingdom of Ghana (birthplace of this story), and engage in coloring activities. Fun animal stickers are included.




20. Luna Park Opening Weekend

Opening March 29 | 11am-8pm Free admission, purchase wristbands and tickets for rides | Coney Island

It's opening weekend at Luna Park! Rides, shopping, carnival games, and dining experiences galore!
