  • Summer Camp & After-School Expo at PS 321 - William Penn in Park Slope

    This free event is open to everyone and offers a great opportunity to explore a wide range of summer camps and after-school programs for your kids.   • Brooklyn Family Camp Fair & Activity Expo at Industry City in Sunset Park

    The New York Family Fun Day and Camp Fair is a day of fun, experiential activities for the whole family. Kids can play and participate in fun activities and parents can meet many Camp exhibitors, such as Day, Sleep-away and Specialty camps. Games, raffles, Arts and Crafts, face painting, balloon animals, music and much more.


3. Ms. J's Gymnastics Winter Wonderland Party

Join Ms. J's for a Winter Wonderland Party at their Williamsburg location for Free Play, Bounce House, and Raffle!



4. Winter Hocus Pocus & Play at CityPoint

Sunday, January 12 | 11am-2pm (magic shows at 11am & 1pm) | $15pp for ages 2+ | Downtown Brooklyn

Experience an exciting winter magic show featuring the European magician Niko and his bag of unbelievable tricks. Niko's exciting magic show is packed with humor, hocus pocus, and amazing tricks that will captivate kids and adults. The gallery space is located next to Rumi on the ground floor. The magic shows will take 60 minutes and are best suited for ages 3 - 99 years old. Space is limited!



5Astronomy: Full Moon at WNYC Transmitter Park

Sunday, January 12 | 7-8:30pm | FREE | Greenpoint

Winter is a prime season for stargazing. The cold air clears the night sky of clouds and creates ideal conditions for seeing the stars, planets, and other celestial highlights. We will be viewing the moon and other celestial objects with a telescope. Learn fun facts and interpretations of our universe.




6Disney On Ice presents Frozen and Encanto at Barclays Center

Thursday, January 16-Sunday, January 19 | Times vary | Tickets start at $40 | Downtown Brooklyn

Disney On Ice is returning to Brooklyn for 4 days! Experience world-class ice skating, iconic music, and stunning costumes as Disney On Ice returns to the Barclays Center to transport you to Anna and Elsa's world of Arendelle and the Madrigal Family's Casita amidst the beautiful mountains of Colombia.



7. Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the kids

  • Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Brooklyn Children's Museum
    Sunday, January 19 & Monday, January 20 | 10am-5pm | $14-15 museum admission | Crown Heights
    Join BCM to celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through performances, protest marches, community art programs, and volunteer projects! This year’s festival features interactive shadow puppet performances created by Nehprii Amenii, music and protest marching with Brooklyn-based musician Fyütch, Our Skin storytime with author Megan Madison, and community art-making projects. On Monday, January 20, Repair the World will also be organizing a volunteer service project to give back to our community.
  • BAMkids Celebrates MLK Day
    Monday, January 20 | 11:45am, 1:30 pm, 3 pm | FREE, registration required | Fort Greene
    This family-friendly program, co-curated with the BAMkids Parent Advisory Circle, immerses young people in art forms that express the importance of acts of service and collaborative work while knowing that your best doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Activities include imaginative movement, creating a collaborative tape mural, celebrating friendship and family in a vintage photo booth, and sharing inspirational messages. Guided by a diverse group of artists, kids will express creativity and build community, while learning about Dr. King’s life and mission.


8. Super Hike in Prospect Park

Sunday, January 26 | 11am-1pm | FREE | Windsor Terrace

Join Urban Park Rangers to take a long hike through one of his most famously pastoral parks and escape the busy feel of the city. Explore the hidden paths, waterways, meadows and woods the way that Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux intended for visitors in this 585 acre green gem of Brooklyn.



9Lunar New Year Family Festival at the Brooklyn Museum

Sunday, January 26 | 12:45–4pm | FREE with Museum admission | Prospect Heights                            

Come welcome in the year of the Snake with Cool Culture and the Brooklyn Museum for an afternoon of art, culture, community building, and fun for the whole family. Enjoy free art-making activities, a lion dance performance by the Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club, and a museum-wide bingo game! Programming includes

10. Kids' Ball at the Polish & Slavic Center in Greenpoint

The Polish and Slavic Center and Maria Konopnicka Polish Supplementary School cordially invite children to the Kids' Ball. Enjoy games with DJ Daniel, Magician Performance, Clowns with Balloons, Fairy-tale characters, and a Kids Fun House. Dress up as your favorite character. Tickets include games, a hot dish, coffee, tea, and pastries.
