1. World Breastfeeding Week

First off this month: Let's raise a toast to all the moms out there with their amazing breastfeeding skills! World Breastfeeding Week, supported by UNICEF and the World Health Federation in more than 120 countries, was created with the goal of providing support for breastfeeding moms everywhere. Aug. 1-7

5. 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop

Hip Hop dates back to August 11, 1973 at a back-to-school party in the Bronx. Behind two turntables, eighteen-year-old Clive Campbell, better known as DJ Kool Herc, played two copies of the same record, looping the percussion portions of each track to keep the beat alive. Attend a celebration to uplift and honor Hip Hop Culture and this momentous golden anniversary. Aug. 11

6. International Youth Day

International Youth Day, a United Nations initiative, is an opportunity to celebrate the involvement of young people in issues worldwide. The 2023 theme is Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World. Take the opportunity on International Youth Day to ask your kids what they think the most pressing issues of today are and how they think we might make progress in solving them. 10. Anniversary of 'I Have a Dream' Speech
