5. 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop

Hip Hop dates back to August 11, 1973 at a back-to-school party in the Bronx. Behind two turntables, eighteen-year-old Clive Campbell, better known as DJ Kool Herc, played two copies of the same record, looping the percussion portions of each track to keep the beat alive.
