National Night Out is an annual event, started in 1984, to promote neighborhood camaraderie and police-community partnerships.
Since then, millions of people in 16,000 communities have taken part in National Night Out events such as block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events.
This year, National Night Out takes place the evening of Tuesday, August 6.
This year's National Night Out events in Brooklyn include:
- 11am-6pm: 77th Precinct at Brower Park in Crown Heights
Meet your 77 Pct. Officers, your neighbors, & have a great time! Free food (hamburgers/hot dogs/chicken/popcorn/etc.), rides, games, music, face painting, live entertainment, and free giveaways. - 12pm-8pm: 79th Precinct in Restoration Plaza in Bed-Stuy
Children's Activities, Food, Music, Vendors, Meet Community Leaders - 3-6pm: 83rd Precinct on Menahan Street in Bushwick
BBQ, Games, Giveaways, Live DJ, Snacks, Valuable Info & Resources, Electronics & Bicycle Registration

- 11am-7pm: 88th Precinct in front of BAM in Fort Greene
Free Rides, Food, Information, DJ Nubian, Live entertainment featuring Praise Party with a Purpose - 4-7pm: 76th Precinct at Coffey Park in Red Hook
Magician, Pony Rides, Game Truck, Face Painting, BBQ, 360 Photo Booth, DJ Royal Rumble, Resource Fair - 4-8pm: 94th Precinct at Lorimer St in Greenpoint
