Description

Join us this fall as we celebrate the changing of the seasons at the Brooklyn Bridge Park’s annual Harvest Festival! Join for live music, arts and crafts, storytelling, lawn games, and more—including our signature pumpkin patch.

ACTIVITIES & COMMUNITY PARTNERS

  • Nory STEM – Build robots and design creative circuits at NORY’s booth! Engineer a jack-o’-lantern rover and make pumpkin-powered musical instruments. Create a fun, hands-on memory and take home a proud robotic project, along with new knowledge and excitement for STEM!
  • The Bee Conservancy– Learn about some of the 20,000+ species of bees in the world, their habitats, and how to help them! At their table, explore bee specimens, books, comics, and a coloring station. Find out which bees pollinate autumn favorites, apples and pumpkins, and be join at Story Lawn for a story time readings of their original comic book, “Bee a Buddy.”
  • NYC Plover Project – learn about endangered Piping Plovers and other fragile beach-nesting birds and wildlife in NYC form this Rockaway-based nonprofit!
  • Brooklyn Music School – will be holding an instrument “petting zoo”! Stop by to chat with musicians at the table and try your hand at several instruments.
  • Brooklyn Book Bodega – Brooklyn Book Bodega will be hosting a book giveaway providing free children’s books to the community.
  • Trail BlazersShoot your shot at a camp classic, ARCHERY! Take aim and see if you can hit one of their harvest-themed targets.
  • Big Reuse – stop by their table for information about curbside & community composting, compost-centric games for kids, and to pick up free food scrap kitchen containers and leaf bags!
  • Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Education Station – stop by to learn all about the herbaceous fruit Cucurbita, also known as the pumpkin, at this special, pumpkin-themed Education Station! Learn about what a pumpkin is, how it grows, and what different kinds of pumpkins look like inside, in our pumpkin cross-section gallery. Explore your senses in our pumpkin seed sensory bin and be inspired by these colorful native gourds as you make your own pumpkin-stamp artwork. 
  • Magic Mesita: Design your own superhero eye masks with stickers and markers!
  • YogieLand: Forget everything you thought kids yoga was. Yogie Land flips the script. This one-of-a-kind movement and mindfulness program offers joyful, story-driven adventures for children ages 6 months to 5 years that build emotional strength, confidence, and calm. Each interactive class follows Yogie the Dogie, a lovable character guide, through original songs, playful stories, educational games, and gentle movement tailored to early development
  • Pumpkin Patch brought to you by Brooklyn Bridge MarinaPick a free mini pumpkin to take home and decorate it with help from our partners at Private Picassos, a community art studio
  • Little Essentials – will be on site collecting donations of new and gently used fall/winter clothes and shoes for children (ages newborn to 5 years old) and kids supplies, including diapers, wipes, baby carriers, children’s books, toys, and more.   • Facepainting – choose from a selection of seasonal designs! Facepainting is free, but first-come, first served and we kindly ask one design per child.
  • Lawn Games – enjoy several classic lawn games, include giant jenga, cornhole, and more!
  • YMCA Obstacle Course – our partners at Dodge YMCA lead an exciting obstacle course for children.
  • Bubbles with Park Slope Parents – be awed with their enormous giant bubbles
  • Photo Opportunities – don’t miss our photo opportunities throughout the Pier for capturing a picture-perfect moment of the day!

Stop by the main stage at Pier 6’s plaza (end of the pier) for live performances throughout the day at the main stage!
