On Thursday, the Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment (BSE), parent company of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, celebrated the opening of the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center – a multi-court youth basketball training facility located opposite Barclays Center with an official ribbon cutting ceremony, inaugural youth basketball clinic, and community open house.

Brooklyn Nets players Drake Powell, Nolan Traoré, and Jalen Wilson, alongside New York Liberty stars Natasha Cloud, Isabelle Harrison, and Breanna Stewart, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony that was marked by addresses from Sam Zussman, Chief Executive Officer of BSE; Deputy Borough President Kim Council; Brooklyn Nets General Manager Sean Marks; and the New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart.
The 18,600 sq. ft. Brooklyn Basketball Training Center will be operated by BSE’s flagship youth basketball program, Brooklyn Basketball - a program affiliated with the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, created to establish a community-first basketball experience dedicated to nurturing young basketball players and enthusiasts to unlock their full potential on and off the court. In addition to launching Brooklyn Basketball’s newest after school program – featuring age- and skill-appropriate sessions for children ages 6–17 on weekdays, including all-girls training on Wednesdays – the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center will also host camps, mini-camps, specialty clinics, all-girls programs, advanced private training, and other activations.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, Brooklyn Basketball coaches led children in the inaugural basketball clinic on the new courts. The Brooklyn Basketball Training Center was then opened for a Community Open House inviting fans and families to tour through the space, connect with Brooklyn Basketball leadership and coaches, and experience the facility’s two full courts, half court “shooting lab”, and technology provided by Shoot 360. Brooklyn Basketball Training Center will be the only youth facility in the tri-state area equipped with Shoot 360’s immersive and data-driven training technology. The center will feature a total of eight interactive training stations—five shooting cages and three skill cages—designed to deliver a cutting-edge, interactive basketball training experience.

For the past several years, Brooklyn Basketball has partnered with the New York City Department of Education for a first of its kind program which offers free in-school basketball clinics for elementary and middle school students in Brooklyn. This initiative integrates basketball training into gym classes, emphasizing athletic and leadership skills while spreading a love for the game of basketball. Through the school program, BSE reaches more than 200 schools annually and in addition, Brooklyn Basketball has provided community clinics across the borough in conjunction with partner community organizations, impacting approximately 40,000 youth each year.
