1. BRIC Family Day: Back To School at BRIC House

This fun-filled event is designed to inspire creativity and excitement for the upcoming school year for your little ones, with a whole bunch of activities, including a Breakdance Performance, Kid Rapper, Robo-Doodling, Notebook Collage, Back2School Bucket Hats, Music Maker Zone, BRIColoring, Friendship Bracelets, and Community Mural.

2. The Brooklyn Dribble at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 2

Join for a one-mile dribble parade around Brooklyn Bridge Park ending at a fan fest with NY Liberty performances, photobooth, facepainting, food trucks, and more!

3. Flotsam River Circus at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pebble Beach

Friday, September 12 | 6-7pm | FREE | DUMBO

Join the Flotsam River Circus‘ free theatrical circus performance as they make a stop at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pebble Beach Flotsam is a troupe of musicians, puppeteers, and circus artists who travel on a ramshackle raft, giving free performances in riverfront towns along the way. In 2025, in conjunction with the Bicentennial of the opening of the Erie Canal, they are taking their craft down the canal and the Hudson River from Buffalo to New York City, with Brooklyn Bridge Park towards the conclusion of their journey! Enjoy a free live performance along the water’s edge.

4. DUMBO Disco: All ages Dance Party!

Get ready to move with DJ Marc Bars spinning hip hop, pop and global grooves at this high-energy outdoor dance party. Plus, food and drinks for sale and free kids activities. Come dance at Brooklyn Bridge Parents' first DUMBO Disco! DJ Marc Bars AKA Mr. Marc — award-winning entertainer, and crowd motivator, brings a high-energy, all-ages dance party to the DUMBO Plaza and Archway. Expect a mix of pop and hip hop infused with multicultural dance sets and hits throughout the decades.

5. The Second United Lenape / Lunáapeew Nations Pow Wow at Lefferts Historic House

Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 | 12pm | FREE | Prospect Park

Join Prospect Park Alliance, the nonprofit that sustains the Prospect Park in partnership with the city, Éenda-Lŭnaapeewáhkiing Collective, which brings together Lunáapeew/Lenape communities who have been displaced across Turtle Island (North America), and American Indian Community House, which promotes the well-being and visibility of the American Indian community, for the Second United Lenape/Lunáapeew Nations Pow Wow at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park. 

This free, two-day public event welcomes the original Indigenous Lenape peoples who were forced to relocate across the continent back to their ancestral homelands to reunite and share their cultures with Brooklynites today. Join the weekend of family friendly fun, culture, art and learning with Indigenous dancers, drummers, and artisan craft and food vendors. Reviving this tradition in Prospect Park provides the Lenape/Lunáapeew an opportunity to celebrate their culture in their homelands and offers Brooklynites of all backgrounds the chance to enjoy the drumming, dancing, singing, art, crafts and foods of the original stewards of this land.

6. Myrtle Avenue Touch A Truck

Join Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership as they transform Clinton Ave into a FREE, family-friendly playground for kids to explore, discover, and play! Touch A Truck gives kids an opportunity to get up close to all kinds of large trucks and vehicles — from a fire truck to emergency services vehicles to buses  — just to name a few. Kids can climb aboard and get in the driver’s seat to honk the horns and get hands-on with these mighty machines! And that’s not all—enjoy music from the father-son DJ duo Saint James Joy, book giveaways from Brooklyn Book Bodega, NYC Ghostbuster’s signature slime lab activity, arts & crafts, face painting—and so much more. 

7. FAMChella on Fifth

Experience the ultimate FREE family-friendly festival with FAMChella on Fifth Avenue in Bay Ridge! Join Brooklyn Bridge Parents and the 5th Avenue BID for FAMChella, a FREE family-friendly block party inspired by the fun and flair of Coachella. They're turning the car-free stretch of 5th Avenue from 68th to 81st Street into a lively festival zone filled with free kids' activities, including a bouncy house, arts & crafts, LEGO play, water fun, DIY bedazzled headbands, and more! Local restaurants will be serving up tasty bites, and the whole neighborhood is invited to celebrate an unforgettable afternoon of family fun.

8. Brasswick: An Urban Brass Music Festival at Industry City

Saturday, September 13 | 1:30-7:30pm | $20-25, free for kids under 12 | Sunset Park

Brasswick is an annual urban music festival showcasing the talent of the vibrant and ever-growing brass band scene in the New York City area. New York City’s premier music festival for brass bands and brassy music returns to Industry City on Saturday, September 13th! Join at the Bandshell in Courtyard 1/2 for a day filled with music and fun. Hosted and headlined by Brooklyn’s own L Train Brass Band, this year’s festival will include the acclaimed Funky Dawgz Brass Band from Connecticut, the funk-rock sounds of Summer Fling, New York City’s own NYChillharmonic, the saxophone stylings of Big Blitz! They’ll wrap up the night with a NOLA-style Jam Session following L Train’s set. Open to all musicians! Bring your horn, drum, or whatever else makes noise. All skill levels are welcome!

9. The 43rd Annual Great Irish Fair of New York

Saturday, September 13 | 11am | FREE | Prospect Park

Celebrate the halfway point to St. Patrick’s Day on September 13 at the Annual Great Irish Fair of New York. Taking place at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Prospect Park, the fair hosts musicians, dancers and all things Irish, including a presentation on the Good Friday Agreement and its lasting impact on the Northern Ireland peace process. Plus, there’s a bounce house for the kids.

10. Back to School Party on Montague Open Streets

Join Brooklyn Bridge Parents for their annual Back to School Party during Open Streets on Montague with 25 free kids' activities, a dance party, and a bubble show. They will have games, arts & crafts, soccer, face painting, building activities and obstacle course, much more.

11. Annual Brooklyn Americana Music Festival at the Archway

Friday, September 19 starting 6pm & Saturday, September 20 starting 5pm | FREE | DUMBO

The 11th Annual Brooklyn Americana Music Festival takes place from Sept. 18-21, 2025. Artists from near and far play Jalopy Theatre, Dumbo Archway, 68 Jay St., Sunny's, and Superfine.

12. Brooklyn Book Festival Children's Day at Brooklyn Commons

The 2025 Brooklyn Book Festival Children's Day features a Picture Book Stage, Young Readers’ Stage, Performance Stage, Workshop Room, and a dedicated Makers & Creators area. Families will enjoy a full day of readings, workshops, performances, book signings, and art projects with favorite authors and illustrators.

13. Drop-In Workshops: Life at Sea at Brooklyn Museum

Take a deep dive into Oliver Jeffers: Life at Sea and help expand this underwater world. During these drop-in workshops, bring the family to create colorful creatures and structures. Each afternoon centers on designing new ocean life, from coral to 3D fish, to add to Life at Sea. Workshops are held Saturdays–Sundays, September 20–21, October 18–19, November 15–16, 12–4 pm.

15. 50th Anniversary Flatbush Frolic Street Festival

Time for Flatbush Development Corporation's 50th Anniversary Flatbush Frolic! Join for their annual street festival on Cortelyou Road, celebrated since 1975! There will be music, games, shopping and eating from 10- 6 on Cortelyou Road from Ocean Avenue to Coney Island Avenue

16. Sunset Park BID 5th Avenue Street Festival

A tradition of Sunset Park since 1999, the Sunset Park BID has been hosting a 15-block street festival. The annual Sunset Park event takes place along 5th Avenue from 44th Street to 59th Street. 17. YES! Block Party at House of Yes

House of Yes is taking over the whole street, transforming it into an electric playground carnival wonderland of performances, play, art, and outdoor dance party magic with friends! Free, all ages, rain or shine!
